George Evans (Senior Developer)

Who would be your dream client and what would you like to work on for them?

A sports company looking to develop something like a Fantasy Rugby app, as it would combine my passions of sports (mainly rugby) and programming. Also, I think doing all the stats around player points etc. could be quite a complex and fun challenge to take on.

What's your advice for someone wanting to get into Software Development?

Find a good tutorial site like teamtreehouse.com and practise little and often. Don’t give up when your code doesn’t work in the way you think it should. Read up and find out why it isn’t doing what it should be and carefully go over your code - half the time it's probably a typo. Also, if you copy and paste others' code (which is fine), make sure you break it down and see exactly what each line of code is doing.

Finally, what's the best-kept secret in Bristol?

Squeezed on Wapping Wharf. It's a tiny burger stand but easily the best burger I’ve ever had.
