Gravitywell was approached by Cotswold Homes, an award winning housebuilder local to Bristol and the surrounding areas, to refresh their brand and create a new responsive website.
We purposefully spent a long time working closely with Cotswold Homes during a discovery phase, to ensure we fully understood their brand values and the requirements they had.
As with most brands the logo required particular attention. We pursued a few avenues knowing it needed to communicate an understated confidence with a homely caring touch. The design we landed on had a traditional feel to it with personalised hand lettering for the mark. It needed to sit well with the rest of the brand, using elegance to portray the lifestyle behind the homes they build.
We went on to produce a carefully considered set of brand guidelines that would work across all Cotswold Homes branded materials: from print to onsite banners.
We created an extensive colour palette after taking into consideration the wealth of promotional material Cotswold Homes requires, with particular focus on floorplans and site plans.
A core part of the new brand was to improve the quality and style of their photography. The focus wasn’t just the houses themselves, but the environment and lifestyle that comes with them. We concentrated on creating high quality photography for the key areas of the site, such as the Homepage carousel and site footers, which would appeal to the user on an emotional level.
We developed a brand new website to showcase the detail, care and quality of the Cotswold Homes brand. The responsive design lends perfectly to prospective buyers being able to browse the site with ease across multiple devices.
We wanted to create a website that wasn’t just a calling card, but ensured both that all necessary information was available and easily accessible to buyers from a UX perspective as well as creating something that was visually exciting and would encourage people to get in contact.
