New Internet, Thank Yous and Cake
It’s here! We finally have internet. And by internet, we mean proper internet worth being excited about. Not the disastrous 10mb up / 3mb down excuse that we’ve been battling with for over 2 years since moving to Colston Yard.
Now everything loads instantly, calls don’t cut out or give the recipient the impression we’re calling them from under the sea, and we can actually listen to the Sonos at the same time as having a conference call!
However, none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for all of the graft by our very own Luke.
The reason it's taken so long to get a decent internet connection is due to the difficulties of the Yard itself. Because it's not considered a proper road, we've had a massive battle trying to have it installed - and that goes for all the other businesses and inhabitants that reside on it too. So not only has it been the case that Luke has had to organise internet for us, he's done this for everyone else aswell.
He’s made all the calls, organised everyone's individual requirements and everything required to get it up and running, sorted out the cabling that needed to be run between each building, arranged and participated in the building work and engineering required to get high speed internet in the yard in the first place, completed all the additional tech joys that everyone forgets about (and in most cases no one even knows about, as this isn't your conventional 'ring-up-then-plug-in-a-router-and-off-you-go' shindig) and dealt with constant ‘when are we getting internet!?’ whinges.
So as a thank you, we felt it was only right to celebrate Luke’s very hard work in the best possible way - with a suitable number of embarrassing photos of him printed on a cake.
Thank you Luke!
