Free, automated tweeting of Blog posts via RSS
If you have any RSS feed and was looking for a way to automatically tweet everytime you make a blog/news post - here's a quick tip on a not so known feature of Google's Feedburner and how to use it to automatically tweet your recent posts.
First things, first. You're going to need to register (if you havn't already done so), or login, with Feedburner. Luckily, because Google now owns Feedburner it's pretty quick if you already have a Google account (if not, where have you been?!).
Add your RSS Feed to the list of feeds to 'burn'
Enter your RSS feed URL as indicated above and click next. On the next page, choose a title for your feed and again, click next. Now on this page you should see a congratulations message, you should click the 'skip directly to feed management' button.
Plublicize your feed
Now click on the Publicise tab as indicated above.
Next steps are, as detailed in the image below:
- Click the 'Socialize' button on the left hand menu.
- Connect your feedburner account to your twitter account
- Complete the formatting options, or just leave as default.
- Click the activate button. at the bottom.
That's it! Any future news/blog posts should now automatically be tweeted within 30 minutes of the RSS file updating.
