Gravitywell in the Wyvern Christmas Cracker 10k - Race Report
Stuart entered Simon and himself into the Wyvern Christmas Cracker 10k race held at Western-Super-Mare yesterday. They had hoped it would encourage them to train for the upcoming Bath Half marathon on March 2011. Here are some photos which clearly illustrate how well that went.
These are Before, Start and After photos of Stuart.
Both of us were a little hungover and in a state of shock due to the early Sunday start. It was cold and windy, the skies looked threatening. WSM is a strange seaside town, beautiful in its own very special way.
There was 2000 runners with places but inevitably some people didn't fancy the weather that morning and so the headcount was a little less.
Simon has an unusual running style.
The race starts and ends on the beach next to the new pier. The lads both made it around in less than an hour with respectable times. They agreed that although the 10k went well, the prospect of twice that distance at the Bath Half in 3 months time was rather daunting.
No one looks good after a race but this is a particularly bad image.
