I use a few of the programs provided by Google Apps: Gmail, Calendar, Tasks, Docs, Reader, Angry Birds. I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to buy what appears to be a laptop with severely limited functionality however.

One of the questions you may find when attempting even the simplest of form validation is; at what stage should the data be validated? If you have a Controller, a Form (we’ll use Zend_Form in this case) and a Model you’ll find you can choose to validate at all stages, or just the one.

eBay aquires Magento

In 2010 eBay became the first outside investor in Magento. On June 6th it was confirmed that ebay will now acquire Magento. Ebay have announced a new 'Open Commerce' platform named X.Commerce.

Green hosting at Gravitywell

Our business requires electricity of course and so it's also our responsibility to try to minimise its use. Aside from simply ensuring all workstations are turned off when not in use, we're looking at ways to further minimise our environmental impact.

As part of our commitment to energy efficiency we're proud to say that our server partners are the UK's first Carbon Neutral Web host. The small carbon footprint now left by our servers is offset by funded projects such as methane capture in the Ruhr.

We hope to announce further positive changes in the near future.
